Radio Telescopes

The Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory (MRAO) is located near Cambridge, UK and is home to a number of the largest and most advanced aperture synthesis radio telescopes in the world, including the One-Mile Telescope, 5-km Ryle Telescope, and the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager. It was founded by the University of Cambridge and is part of the Cambridge University, Cavendish Laboratories, Astrophysics Department. On the edge of the site there is an area where the decommissioned radio telescopes are located while the access to them is quite easy as the fence is missing at places. Roaming around the place which is like a time travel to the 50s and the history of astronomy makes you feel a small part of it.
